The Aviation Security unit at the Paro International Airport is headed by a Chief Security Officer with  Security staffs. The Security unit operates for 24 hours. Their responsibilities are to main the access points like Entry and Exit gate, ATC gate, Ceremonial lounge gate, Cargo gate, BSA gate. X-Ray operation for checking luggage and hand luggage, frisking passenger, screening baggage, aircraft search, catering duty and also X-Ray operation at the Ceremonial lounge for VIP/VVIP.

The Security unit personals undergoes in country training at the RBA Wing VII twice a year. Periodically the AVSEC units are also trained by aviation Security specialist in Basic Instructors Course and Screener Course. Besides this Security, staffs are also sent on the job training at Bangkok airport.
